My Sister and The Boy

This is my beautiful sister. She is the sweetest and most talented girl in the world! I am so blessed to have her as my lil' Buggy Butt!
Lately she has had a boyfriend who is pretty alright. Yup, that's right, the big sis approves of her little sis' choice.
I call him "The Boy" but he does have an actual name - Daniel Williams.
They are so cute together! You have never seen two people with crazier personalities. They just match!
Here are some pictures of Buggy Butt and The Boy bein' cute!

Look at the height difference! So cute!!

Down By The Creek

First of all, just know that I can't figure out how to take the underline off of this, so just stick with me. Hee hee hee!
Anyways, a couple of weekends ago Jon and I went home to Taylor to visit with Mom and Dad Saline. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they were babysitting our nephews Kaleb and Keagan for the weekend!
By the time we got there they boys had spent most of the day working with Grandpa in the trenches on the farm. They were already dirty and bundled up, so we decided to take them out to the creek and give Grandpa a chance to clean up.
Here are some pictures of how the day went!

Here is Kaleb thinking he is going to drive the ol' truck.

He couldn't quite reach the peddles, so we decided to let Jon drive. Look at him with the farm behind him, driving an old farm truck - he was totally in his element!
The boys walking to the creek
We finally found the bridge!
Kaleb really wanted to get away and throw more sticks in the water!
But we talked him into looking at the camera so we could "show Mommy and Daddy how they look on the bridge"
Look! We found a rope swing!
The rope swing was hanging on a great tree that you can literally crawl in the middle of!
The boys loved climbing around in there, but Kaleb was all about peeking out for pictures!
Finally Kegan peeked out with a big smile!!
Next in our adventure, we found giant concrete tunnels that Jon says are called culverts - I don't know what they are used for besides walking through, but I'm sure they have an actual purpose.
I will let you know when I know.
Here is Kaleb, he is saying, "Cheese!"
I am so glad Jon was there to help me get the boys to look at the camera! They were very distracted by how fun the tunnels were!
Ok, it's time to head home. The boys were getting tired after a hard days work and all of the exploring!
Back home and cleaned up, Kaleb decides to try on some headphones. I don't know what he is listening to......but he must like it! Look at that smile!

All clean and in our PJ's! What a great day!

We had so much fun with the boys! Thanks for letting us play with them Shaunalee!

New and Different

Valentine's Day brought a desire for some change. Not giant life changes - I am actually really happy in my life - just something small. You girls will understand what I mean.
So my sweetie took me to get my hair done.
I went to this sweet little salon called Mood Swings (I don't know any salons down here so, thanks to google I went to this place) and they were so sweet.
They handed me a cup of tea (which I politely refused) while I waited. When they sat me down the girl gave me a head and neck massage, then she washed my hair, gave me a hand massage while my head rested under a warm washcloth. Then she did the cut and style - and then she even fixed my make-up before I left!! It was really a great experience!
Anyways, I decided to trust the girl and I let her just do what she thought would be best. She did some cute little layers all over, but the most drastic change are the bangs!!!
I didn't think I would like them, but I actually do! Jon really likes them too!
So here is a picture of the new hair - in this picture it is pulled up in a pony, but you can see the exciting bangs!!

Talk about new and different!!

Poor Obama

Now those of you who know me know that I am not a fan of our new President. I don't agree with his politics, most of his ideas....basically anything.......
But I felt pretty bad for him.
Yesterday he had a city hall meeting in Florida (this is not the one on prime time last night - he was in Indiana for that one) and they opened it up for the public to ask questions.
Now, keep in mind, this is probably the only time these people will ever be in the same room as the President of the United States (whether I like him or not, you have to respect the position) let alone be able to ask him questions.
So what kinds of things to they ask??
One woman explains that her car isn't very good and her house isn't very nice - so she needs a new house and a new car. What is the president going to do about getting her these things.
One man explains that he is in his second semester at a state college in Florida and he has been working at McDonald's for 4 years. He can't get another job that will work with his school schedule because of the recession, but he isn't getting the kind of benefits he thinks he deserves for being such a long term employee. What is the president going to do to fix this?
Yet another man explained that he lost his job and couldn't understand why unemployment doesn't pay him what he was making while he was working. What is the president going to do to fix this?
There are many other examples, but needless to say, I was embarrassed by the American public. What has our country come to when we use our once in a lifetime question to the president to beg for a new car and benefits at McDonald's??
Have we really gotten to the point where we need to beg the government because we want a new car!! Can people really not understand that the government should not be held responsible for a person losing their job, and if they did pay for unemployment what people who work got paid, no one would want to work!!!
Get off you butt, work hard, save up, and then get a new car, like any responsible person!!
I felt bad for Obama because he didn't really know what to say to them. . . I mean, what do you say? "Uh, I'm sorry you want a new car and you don't get benefits - we are doing everything we can."
At the same time, I can't help but feel that Obama sort of brought this upon himself. During his campaign he kept promising that he would put gas in our tanks, give us homes and jobs and cars and money. That the government would solve all of our problems. Now people are expecting him to do precisely that.
I personally believe that man is to earn his bread by the sweat of his brow - not by the handout of the government.
Just my thoughts -
Take 'em or Leave 'em!

More Movie Reviews By Malori

This weekend I watched a few movies - some worth the time - some not so worth it. Here are my thoughts - take 'em or leave 'em.

Inkheart

Friday night Jon took me to see Inkheart. I was so excited because the book is without a doubt in my Top 20 favorite books! I was a little wary of Brendin Frasier being the dad, but I decided to give him a chance - how could he mess up such a perfect story!?
Well, I should have gone with my gut instinct. Brendin Frasier could mess up such a perfect story. He just isn't good - in anything! He was the only character in the entire movie with an American accent - inc
luding his daughter. It was very distracting!
It wasn't all his fault though - the make-up was also bad. Everything looked really over the top and obviously fake.
Yet another thing that bothered me was that they r
ushed through very important parts and dragged out the boring stuff. It was like a ton of stuff would happen and then nothing would happen.
Ok, I totally tore the whole movie up, but there were some redeeming qualities. It really did a great job of sticking to the story which I really appreciated. Nothing irritates me worse than a movie that is nothing like the book!
So it was entertaining, but read the book before you watch the movie!

Batman and Robin

You have to love those TBS Saturday movies! This week they showed Batman and Robin. Now I love George Clooney as much as the next girl - I thought he was super precious in "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" - but he makes an awful Batman!!
The entire movie is filled with cheesy lines, cheesy costumes, and bad acting!
It reminded me a lot of the old Adam West Batman - except that I think they were serious.
Alicia Silverstone thinks she is so hot, but she has a funny mouth and her character is obnoxious and po
intless!
And Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy - I just wonder if she looks back on this movie and cringes! The bright red hair and green gloves with red tips - - it's just too much!!
The entire time I was sure my brain was going to melt out of my ears because my IQ was dropping so severely - and yet, I watched the whole thing.
It was obviously entertaining enough to hold my attention and I did giggle a few times.
So I am warning you - Do Not Start Watching This Movie Or You Will Be Trapped And You Will Lose Brain Cells!!!

Traitor

I actually have a good review for this movie! (I know, that's a shocker right?)
Don Cheatle was so great in this movie! He has such a precious face and sweet eyes that your heart goes out to him through the entire movie!!
I truly think I got 2 new pimples because of the stress of this movie!
It is so crazy to see the innerworkings of terrorist groups and to see how they move and how they work. It is also crazy to see how the Americans respond to them.
I can't say too much about this movie because any hint of anything will ruin it for you - but you should watch it.
The more I thought about it the more I liked it!
You should watch a good Disney movie before you go to bed though because I had a pretty crazy dream about a bomb in a Monolopy game after I watched it......

So that is it for my movie revies. I hope I have helped your viewing decision making.....
